Privacy and research statistics

When the research notice is visible in the studio, exports and failed builds send a small record of the design settings to the study database. These statistics help us understand which fabric structures people choose and which settings need better support.

What is recorded

The selected design and pattern settings; width and height; layer and nozzle settings; estimated print time, filament and move count for exports; whether an SVG or image was used; numeric counts of SVG paths, points and green guides; and whether the action was a swatch, garment panel, settings file or failed build. Failures record a fixed error category and any known numeric limit, without the raw error message or stack. Records are grouped by UTC date.

What stays on your device

Uploaded SVG paths and images, filenames, document titles and saved settings files are not uploaded to the study database. The database stores no IP addresses, user accounts, browser fingerprints, cookies or persistent participant identifiers.

The hosting provider, Cloudflare, necessarily handles network requests to serve the site. Its infrastructure processing is separate from the export records stored by this application.

A separate error history stays in your browser, limited to the last 50 attempts. “Download error log” saves that history and your complete current design, including any drawing, locally. It is not sent to the study database; only share that file when you want to share its contents.

Cookies and what is kept in your browser

Filafabric sets no cookies and uses no advertising, analytics or tracking services. Its font is served from this site, not from a font service. Your browser's local storage keeps what the studio needs to work for you: your current design and settings, printers and filaments you added, whether you unlocked the preview, your last 50 build errors, and your answer to the privacy notice. None of it is sent anywhere by keeping it there, and clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.

Turning the counting off

The privacy notice shown on your first visit has a “Don't count my exports” button. You can change your answer at any time in the studio under ⋯ › Privacy and cookies. While counting is off, the research notice above Export is hidden and no export or failure record is sent from that browser.

The feedback form

Feedback is separate from these statistics and is only sent when you press Send. The form service, Formspree, emails it to the Filafabric team at Bubaki: what you wrote, the design you had open, the studio version and, only if you give it, your email address for a reply. A problem report can also carry the recent error history and the current settings, which you can read in full in the form before sending, or leave out. Your drawing, its file name and any picture are never sent by the form; a picture goes only if you choose to email it yourself.

What an export means

A record counts an export action, not a unique person, a completed print or a confirmed saved download. Repeated exports count separately. Cancelled panel jobs are not recorded. Statistics are not collected while the database is disconnected, and a collection failure never prevents an export.
